# Licensing

> Everything you need to know about Cosmil's licensing system

## Obtaining a License

1. Visit the [pricing page](https://cosmil.app/pricing)
2. Find the option that best fits your needs and click the "Purchase" button
3. Fill out your billing information and ensure that it is accurate
   <Warning>The email you use at checkout is directly attached to your license key and you should be able to easily access it for the foreseeable future in case you lose your key.</Warning>
4. Click "Pay"

After the payment succeeds, you will be redirected to a purchase complete page that contains your license key. Don't worry about closing the purchase complete page, your license key and a receipt were also sent to the email you provided during checkout.

## Computer Limits

<Warning>
  *Always* disassociate your license with your Cosmil installation *before* uninstalling Cosmil, or else you may be unable to use it again and will have to contact support.
</Warning>

Depending on whether you bought the `1 Mac` or `4 Macs` option at checkout, you may either use Cosmil on at most 1 or 4 Macs at a time. To free up a slot/switch to another computer you must disassociate your license with the current computer via Cosmil's license settings in the app.
